On Saturday 29 August I, along with Jonny_YesYes (aka Mr Polaroids of Androids), went to Flip Out Festival at Manning Bar in Sydney.

I arrived right on 2pm, as the doors opened, so I was one of the lucky punters to score a free cd featuring rare and exclusive tracks from all the artists at the festival.

Zond

As I walked into Manning Bar, Zond were already playing. I can’t tell you that much about them as I was:

  • reminishing about my Sydney Uni days at Manning Bar – “I was standing right there (*pointing*) when I saw The Avalanches perform. A week later they broke and they were HUGE.”
  • distracted by the pretty colours of my new free cd… pretty
  • deciding what beer to drink (James Squire Golden Ale on tap – winner!)

Flip Out festival is on THIS SATURDAY at Manning Bar in Sydney. As previously reported it features a pretty cool and interesting line up and should be a pretty fun day / night.

The Melbourne festival, Flip Out, will be heading to Sydney this August. The festival will take place at Manning Bar with garage rock and indie bands from both Australia and the USA. As well as bands there will also be a record fair, markets and a bbq (nice)!

The first line up announcement featured Eddy Current Suppression Ring, The UV Race, Royal Headache, Pink Reason (USA), James Arthur’s Manhunt (USA), and Slug Guts. Today it was announced that the following bands will be joining the line up: Goodnight Loving (USA), Ooga Boogas, Naked on the Vague, The Stabs, Super Wild Horses, Deaf Wish, and Zond.
