Blueprint Festival is happening from 18-21 September in Ararat, Victoria. The festival promises to be a fun weekend without breaking the bank and features an all Australian line up with acts like Jebediah, The Panics, Blue King Brown, The Beautiful Girls and Tim Rogers.
We interviewed Aaron, one of the organisers of Blueprint Festival, to find out about the festival, why he and a couple of his mates decided to start a music festival, and his big plans for the future.

Who doesn’t love a good almost-definite rumour?
Although the line up hasn’t been announced yet there are two acts which seem like almost-definites to play at this year’s Meredith Music Festival.
Jarvis Cocker has announced that he will be performing shows in Australia in December. The lack of a Melbourne show can be seen as a sure sign that he will be playing at the Meredith Music Festival.
Also, according to the Domino Records website Animal Collective will also be playing at Meredith.
Awesome? YES!

The first line up announcement for Peats Ridge festival has finally happened and put simply it’s a bit of a yawn-fest.
With first and second release tickets already sold out we were expecting something great… someone special to be announced on the line up. We thought that these people (who’d bought all the tix) knew something we didn’t.
The “highlights” of the line up are Sarah Blasko, The Panics, Blue King Brown, Liam Finn, Dappled Cities, Leader Cheetah, and Jack Ladder. These would all be great to see, don’t get me wrong, except for the fact that they feature on so many line ups circulating at the moment. Where’s the big international act? Give me something fresh, give me something dynamic. Second line up maybe? Please?!

To celebrate their 15th birthday, Homebake are inviting old friends and new friends to the party. They’ve even resurrected a few friends from the grave!
Tumbleweed, a band that defined the 1990s Australian grunge movement, will be reforming and performing at this year’s Homebake with the original line up!!! Excited doesn’t even cover what we are feeling right now with memories and the emotions of Homebake 1998 coming flooding back. It’s the moment we’ve been waiting for, the return of grunge. The return of gaffa tape (to tape down shoe laces for the grunge-fest mosh pit) and army shorts (possibly too hot for flannels?). We only hope that time has been kind to Tumbleweed.

We’ve always held a very special place in our hearts for Frenzal Rhomb (except Poleski). Dating back to the days of 1996 when we use to attend u18 gigs a the Sutherland Entertainment Centre. In April we attended their comeback show at the Metro. It was just like old times – sweat, circle pits, beer and moshing. It turns out the comeback show wasn’t just a one off or a desperate attempt to keep the band above the poverty line. Frenzal Rhomb really are back!!! And will be making their return to the festival scene, playing at the Sounds of Spring festival in September!

Beaches, hippies, sunshine, rain, and mud. It’s almost time for Splendour in the Grass.
According to the official festival countdown spreadsheet (Excel nerdfest) it’s only 16 days until Splendour in the Grass. With only a few days to go, we’ve put together what could be described as a Splendour in the Grass survival guide but in reality it’s just a collection of random thoughts on the best / worst acts performing, the latest fashion predictions and helpful hints for a happy festival experience.
