Blues and roots fans, be excited. The first line up announcement for Bluesfest 2010 in Byron Bay is out, and it’s a corker! Observe…
Crowded House, Buddy Guy, Roger Hodgson from Supertramp, Gipsy Kings, Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club, Jeff Beck, Lyle Lovett, Rockwiz (not technically a band, cheeky), Jimmy Barnes plays the Rhythm & the Blues (nice of them to specify)….
The first official line up announcement for the Big Day Out will be happening tomorrow on the Triple J breakfast show. However it would appear that someone over at last.fm has leaked the line up a day early. Or have they? We have no idea if it’s true or not… but who doesn’t love a good rumour? Especially on a Monday.
The rumoured line up:
Muse, David Bowie, Placebo, Massive Attack, Kasabian, Lily Allen, Jet, Groove Armada, Rise Against, The Mars Volta, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Calvin Harris, Foals, Mastodon, Dizzee Rascal, Girl Talk, Powderfinger, Josh Pyke, The Dead Weather, Grinspoon, The Temper Trap, Karnivool, Monsters of Folk, Tame Impala, Dappled Cities, The Middle East, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Regular John and Former Child Stars.
Today it was announced that The Grates will be headlining the Purple Sneakers NYE House Party. The Grates back from the States! YAY… the stalking continues!
Joining The Grates at the House Party will be three international acts – The Boxer Rebellion (UK), Ponytail (US) and Baddies (UK). The other Australian acts announced today were Philadelphia Grand Jury, Red Riders, DZ, Chaingang, The Trivs, Young Heretics, and Deep Sea Arcade.
Falls Festival second line up landed today and it features one of the Festival Ladies party favourites – Datarock! Matching red tracksuits, star jumps, lovely hair, a little choreography here and there, delightful accents, running man… Datarock have it all and we can’t wait to bring in the New Year with them!
Also announced today for Lorne were Wolfmother (argh), Dappled Cities (FLY), Little Red, Jamie T, Amanda Blank, The Inspector Cluzo, Washington, Bertie Blackman, Miami Horror, Wagons, Oh Mercy, Jordie Lane, Kid Sam, and The Beards.
Coaster Festival is happening on Saturday 12th September at Gosford Showgrounds.
The festival boasts a killer line up featuring awesome internationals like Does It Offend You Yeah?, The Bronx, GZA / Genius from the Wu Tang Clan, and The Airbourne Toxic Effect.
Today the set times were announced…
The first line up announcement for Pyramid Rock festival (yep, another New Years festival) was released today.
Overall it’s a fairly boring announcement… Empire Of The Sun, The Cat Empire, The Butterfly Effect, Architecture In Helsinki, Faker, The Beautiful Girls, Blue King Brown thrown together with a few internationals like Ugly Duckling (US), LCD Soundsystem (DJ Set), Baddies (UK), and The Boxer Rebellion (UK).
My heart skipped a beat when I saw LCD Soundsystem… and then I saw DJ set. FAIL. Although this is only the first announcement and there are more acts to be added. Maybe LCD Soundsystem (non-DJ set)?! Maybe?! Fingers crossed for some non-DJ set sideshows.

So as you are all probably aware… the line up for Falls Festival got leaked last week as a result of some awesome detective work and a sloppy web developer (fired yet?).
The first line up announcement for Meredith, one of the Festival Ladies’ favourite festivals, was released this morning… YAY!!!

Nothing gets us more excited than the announcement for the angriest of the angry music festivals. And it looks like the organisers have out done themselves this time… all that’s missing is Courtney.
Oh we can just smell the festival season round the corner (vodka, sweat & fake tan)…
In a matter of hours the ever so delightful JimmyFest aka SOUNDWAVE Festival will be announced. Several acts have been leaked over the last few weeks (Go internet Go!) and boy does the list have us ready to get our emo on.
