Good Vibrations – 13 Feb 2010 – Centennial Park, Sydney

Salt n Pepa, Naughty By Nature, Busta Rhymes. I thought I was dreaming when I saw that line up. An epic blast from the past.

Salt n Pepa were unbelievably awesome. Totally brought down the house and had everyone going mental. They played all the hits (“Shoop”, “Push It”, “Let’s Talk About Sex”). Spinderella did a massive mix up of tunes in the middle of the set with songs like “We are Family” and “Ice Ice Baby”. They had everyone dancing and singing along. I had to pinch myself to remind myself who I was watching. They’ve still got it.

Naughty by Nature had everyone throwing their hands up in the air and dancing to the awesome beats. I never realised there were so many Naughty By Nature fans in Sydney! In comparison Busta Rhymes was a little disappointing, with the DJ playing over the top of the rapping. Annoying but still epic dance offs.

Is it just me or does it feel like Basement Jaxx are here every summer? Basement Jaxx ended up being the headliner after The Killers pulled out. Despite seeing them several times, I still really enjoyed them. And turned out to be a good end to a fun festival.

A little bit of the Naughty By Nature magic…
