The NYE festival called Pyramid Rock has released it’s 2nd and final round of acts. The line up already consists of Empire Of The Sun, The Cat Empire, Ugly Duckling, Architecture In Helsinki, LCD Soundsystem (DJ SET) and many more acts. Today it was announced that the following will be added to the line up:

The official Big Day Out line up announced today:

The first official line up announcement for the Big Day Out will be happening tomorrow on the Triple J breakfast show. However it would appear that someone over at last.fm has leaked the line up a day early. Or have they? We have no idea if it’s true or not… but who doesn’t love a good rumour? Especially on a Monday.
The rumoured line up:
Muse, David Bowie, Placebo, Massive Attack, Kasabian, Lily Allen, Jet, Groove Armada, Rise Against, The Mars Volta, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, Calvin Harris, Foals, Mastodon, Dizzee Rascal, Girl Talk, Powderfinger, Josh Pyke, The Dead Weather, Grinspoon, The Temper Trap, Karnivool, Monsters of Folk, Tame Impala, Dappled Cities, The Middle East, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Regular John and Former Child Stars.
Meredith Music Festival… set in the beautiful Supernatural Amplitheatre where life is happy and tranquil. It’s also kind of muddy and wet at times. But who doesn’t love gumboots and ponchos? I haven’t met such a person.
The line up for this year’s festival already consists of some old school favs like Animal Collective, Jarvis Cocker and Tumbleweed. Today it was announced, further proving that the 90s are well and truly back, that The Fauves will be joining the line up.
After a couple of years of somewhat disappointing Homebake lineups (we all know it’s true) it’s reassuring to see a strong Oz and NZ festival, in the form of Sounds of Spring. So reassuring, in fact, that the Festival Ladies will be deploying troops northwards to soak up some of the glorious sunny weather and to get amongst the mayhem of this Saturday’s SoS 09 in Brisbane!
On Saturday 12th September 2009 we travelled to Gosford for the Coaster Festival. It was an epic event. For the very first time in the history of festival-ing all FIVE of the FESTIVAL LADIES attended a festival TOGETHER!
Antics, mullets, fake tan, ballet dancing, Southern Cross tattoos and Mr Smirnoff… this festival had it all.
You’ve read the live updates from the festival, now read the review to find out just how we managed to meet Matt from the Bronx, how Gemdilem got KO-ed, and much much more.
Today it was announced that The Grates will be headlining the Purple Sneakers NYE House Party. The Grates back from the States! YAY… the stalking continues!
Joining The Grates at the House Party will be three international acts – The Boxer Rebellion (UK), Ponytail (US) and Baddies (UK). The other Australian acts announced today were Philadelphia Grand Jury, Red Riders, DZ, Chaingang, The Trivs, Young Heretics, and Deep Sea Arcade.
Falls Festival second line up landed today and it features one of the Festival Ladies party favourites – Datarock! Matching red tracksuits, star jumps, lovely hair, a little choreography here and there, delightful accents, running man… Datarock have it all and we can’t wait to bring in the New Year with them!
Also announced today for Lorne were Wolfmother (argh), Dappled Cities (FLY), Little Red, Jamie T, Amanda Blank, The Inspector Cluzo, Washington, Bertie Blackman, Miami Horror, Wagons, Oh Mercy, Jordie Lane, Kid Sam, and The Beards.
This Saturday Coaster Festival is happening in Gosford and it’s going to be HUGE. Not just because of the bands playing (The Bronx, Does It Offend You Yeah?) but also because for the very first time in the history of festival-ing all FIVE of the FESTIVAL LADIES will be attending the festival TOGETHER! Watch out Gosford!
To commemorate this monumentus occasion – each of the festival ladies will not only be getting Festival Lady Southern Cross tattoos (!!). Boom. They will also be doing LIVE UPDATES from the festival via TWITTER. Double boom.
The tweets will be compiled onto THIS PAGE making it easier for YOU to get all the action from the festival in a concise, pocket-size bundle. As an extra special bonus – live PHOTOS will also be flowing in via the amazing world of Flickr.
On Saturday 29 August I, along with Jonny_YesYes (aka Mr Polaroids of Androids), went to Flip Out Festival at Manning Bar in Sydney.
I arrived right on 2pm, as the doors opened, so I was one of the lucky punters to score a free cd featuring rare and exclusive tracks from all the artists at the festival.
Zond
As I walked into Manning Bar, Zond were already playing. I can’t tell you that much about them as I was:
- reminishing about my Sydney Uni days at Manning Bar – “I was standing right there (*pointing*) when I saw The Avalanches perform. A week later they broke and they were HUGE.”
- distracted by the pretty colours of my new free cd… pretty
- deciding what beer to drink (James Squire Golden Ale on tap – winner!)
