The first line up announcement for Peats Ridge festival has finally happened and put simply it’s a bit of a yawn-fest.
With first and second release tickets already sold out we were expecting something great… someone special to be announced on the line up. We thought that these people (who’d bought all the tix) knew something we didn’t.
The “highlights” of the line up are Sarah Blasko, The Panics, Blue King Brown, Liam Finn, Dappled Cities, Leader Cheetah, and Jack Ladder. These would all be great to see, don’t get me wrong, except for the fact that they feature on so many line ups circulating at the moment. Where’s the big international act? Give me something fresh, give me something dynamic. Second line up maybe? Please?!
But it’s not all about the music when it comes to Peats Ridge festival. The festival is the first major event in Australia to run completely on renewable energy. It’s all about nature with the festival set in beautiful surroundings and overall the festival has a lovely intimate atmosphere. As well as music there are arts, theatre, healing massages (not the kinky kind), a children’s festival (!!!!), and you can even learn to Bollywood dance at one of the many workshops.
If this sounds like your cup of tea you should probably hop to it and get a ticket asap. Only final release tix are left. They will set you back $285 (+bf) and go on sale Wed 12th August.
Peats Ridge 2009 festival happens from 29th December to 1st January in Glenworth Valley, NSW.
Hold anything over NYE and you will get an assured amount of people there methinks, no matter who plays…
