Line up for Bluesfest 2012 festival has been announced

Bluesfest has announced their line up for the 2012 festival featuring some pretty big names in blues, rock, country, and funk.

Roger Daltrey, the iconic lead singer of The Who, will perform The Who’s Tommy from start to finish at Bluesfest 2012. Although a throwback to 1969 and an opera might not excite everyone, I can guarantee that this will be a very special experience for those familiar with this legendary rock opera. Eg. My dad is literally going to lose his shit when he hears about this. As well as Tommy, each night music fans will also be treated to a variety of The Who’s classic songs.

Other acts hitting Bluesfest 2012 include Earth Wind & Fire, The Pogues, Bluesfest favourite John Butler Trio, My Morning Jacket and Justin Townes Earle, who stole our hearts at this year’s Golden Plains festival (excellent banter, great accent, delightful stories, and then he took his shirt off… ohhh yeah).

The line up for Bluesfest 2012… so far:

Roger Daltrey Performs The Who’s Tommy & More
Earth Wind & Fire
The Pogues
John Butler Trio

Flo Rida is a no show at Fat As Butter festival

Rapper Flo Rida failed to appear for his scheduled set at the Fat As Butter festival in Newcastle yesterday after chucking a hissy fit. Brent from Fat As Butter had this to say on on the festival’s Facebook page:

We’re as upset as you are. We paid Flo to appear months ago and since he’s been on his Australian tour, he’s been an absolute Tonk. He’s been in Sydney today, and he’s had a hissy fit. We did everything we absolutely could to get him here, but he wouldn’t come. We’re absolutely devastated he decided not to be a part of Fat As Butter.

Brent: What’s a Tonk?
